You know...
It bugs me. It really does. That george bush and his sycophants and lackies got away with it.
They tortured people. They robbed people. They lied to us. And we're not going to punish them, or do anything. Their going to go on their huge pensions and have a happy retirement, and speak to young impressionable people...
And we're not going to do a thing about the millions of deaths caused, the trillions of dollars wasted, the lies, the spying, the torture...anything.
I'm starting to think america has become a paper tiger. We're cowards. We couldn't even muster a jet to stop 19 guys with box cutters.

You know. I think I find being in love to be annoying. If I am. I have no idea. Its been so long since I had any of these emotions I'm not sure if I'm just imagining them.
Also those little pedi-egg things kick ass. Much more efficient then pocket knives.

Is this racist or just stupid?
I dunnuh. Despite it apparently being great that he's black(or so mccain said), he's just as much white too. I don't know if its appropriate to use an allegory to slaves being relased to him being president.
Also its weird to think of his singing voice being identical to dianna ross.
He collects X-Men and likes comics though. I think we'll be okay.

Holidays are upon us.
Kind of funny. I like halloween. Its a celebration of, effectivly, greed, self induldgence and lust. Then We have Christmas, and in america, thanksgiving, which are all about togetherness and generosity(with underpinned greed too).
The two falling so close together always sort of bugged me. Its like we have to get the bad stuff out of the way to get to the good stuff.
I realized last night I utterly hate running in to people I went to school with. They always know me, and I don't know them.
Also Niel Gaimen is writing batman comics now.

Someone asked me why I don't seem to have any desire to date or seek a relationship.
You know. Its an odd thought. While I know the answer articulation is a difficult thing to do.
Humans need others. They need friends, lovers, confidants. We're not meant to be alone.
Yet at the same time the risk of having someone in your life is a thing that multiplies steadily. Its partially a thing of bravery, or mayhapse naievity to allow someone into your life. Some people don't have the guts, other people don't know any better. Occasionally you get freaks that don't like companionship.
I'm 25. I've been in love 5 times. I'm still 'in love' 5 times as well, in a way, because I don't belive in negativity, I just stop focusing on the person. I can remember all the fondness of them, even if to a person I no longer communicate with any of them. I've flirted up a storm a few other times.
Yet despite, or because of this, I have made the decission I'm just not..ready to have that in my life anymore. I don't think I ever will be. I have other responsibilities now. I don't know if there's enough of me left to devote myself utterly, and I don't like the idea of only partially doing anything.
I miss it. I'll admit it. I miss each and everyone of them for the friendship I had before, though the souring therin stains that somewhat. I miss my friends I lost too, sometimes, when I sit and think about how so many years ago I would have spent time with them instead of in soluitude.
I think alot about the campaign. There was a south park song 'you have the right to choose, between a douche or a turd'. I think it applies to our own campaign.
I like obama somewhat, however, he's a product of the illinois goverment, which is one of the most revolting to ever be...and well...I can't shake the feeling that he's just an attempt by party high ups to re-package the gubermant in a way they think people will 'like'. McCain I hate. So I can choose someone I don't trust, or loath.
Guess thats kinda simmilar to why I've chosen to give up persuing relationship at all. If nothing else, it grants more free time, which is an excellent commodity when you have nothing to do.

[05 Jun 2008|10:32pm] |
Every day, there are more and more posts seeking “artists” for everything from auto graphics to comic books to corporate logo designs. More people are finding themselves in need of some form of illustrative service.
But what they’re NOT doing, unfortunately, is realizing how rare someone with these particular talents can be.
To those who are “seeking artists”, let me ask you; How many people do you know, personally, with the talent and skill to perform the services you need? A dozen? Five? One? …none?
More than likely, you don’t know any. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be posting to find them.
And this is not really a surprise.
In this country, there are almost twice as many neurosurgeons as there are professional illustrators. There are eleven times as many certified mechanics. There are SEVENTY times as many people in the IT field.
So, given that they are less rare, and therefore less in demand, would it make sense to ask your mechanic to work on your car for free? Would you look him in the eye, with a straight face, and tell him that his compensation would be the ability to have his work shown to others as you drive down the street?
Would you offer a neurosurgeon the “opportunity” to add your name to his resume as payment for removing that pesky tumor? (Maybe you could offer him “a few bucks” for “materials”. What a deal!)
Would you be able to seriously even CONSIDER offering your web hosting service the chance to have people see their work, by viewing your website, as their payment for hosting you?
If you answered “yes” to ANY of the above, you’re obviously insane. If you answered “no”, then kudos to you for living in the real world.
But then tell me… why would you think it is okay to live out the same, delusional, ridiculous fantasy when seeking someone whose abilities are even less in supply than these folks?
Graphic artists, illustrators, painters, etc., are skilled tradesmen. As such, to consider them as, or deal with them as, anything less than professionals fully deserving of your respect is both insulting and a bad reflection on you as a sane, reasonable person. In short, it makes you look like a twit.
A few things you need to know;
1. It is not a “great opportunity” for an artist to have his work seen on your car/’zine/website/bedroom wall, etc. It IS a “great opportunity” for YOU to have their work there.
2. It is not clever to seek a “student” or “beginner” in an attempt to get work for free. It’s ignorant and insulting. They may be “students”, but that does not mean they don’t deserve to be paid for their hard work. You were a “student” once, too. Would you have taken that job at McDonalds with no pay, because you were learning essential job skills for the real world? Yes, your proposition it JUST as stupid.
3. The chance to have their name on something that is going to be seen by other people, whether it’s one or one million, is NOT a valid enticement. Neither is the right to add that work to their “portfolio”. They get to do those things ANYWAY, after being paid as they should. It’s not compensation. It’s their right, and it’s a given.
4. Stop thinking that you’re giving them some great chance to work. Once they skip over your silly ad, as they should, the next ad is usually for someone who lives in the real world, and as such, will pay them. There are far more jobs needing these skills than there are people who possess these skills.
5. Students DO need “experience”. But they do NOT need to get it by giving their work away. In fact, this does not even offer them the experience they need. Anyone who will not/can not pay them is obviously the type of person or business they should be ashamed to have on their resume anyway. Do you think professional contractors list the “experience” they got while nailing down a loose step at their grandmother’s house when they were seventeen?
If you your company or gig was worth listing as desired experience, it would be able to pay for the services it received. The only experience they will get doing free work for you is a lesson learned in what kinds of scrubs they should not lower themselves to deal with.
6. (This one is FOR the artists out there, please pay attention.) Some will ask you to “submit work for consideration”. They may even be posing as some sort of “contest”. These are almost always scams. They will take the work submitted by many artists seeking to win the “contest”, or be “chosen” for the gig, and find what they like most. They will then usually have someone who works for them, or someone who works incredibly cheap because they have no originality or talent of their own, reproduce that same work, or even just make slight modifications to it, and claim it as their own. You will NOT be paid, you will NOT win the contest. The only people who win, here, are the underhanded folks who run these ads. This is speculative, or “spec”, work. It’s risky at best, and a complete scam at worst. I urge you to avoid it, completely. For more information on this subject, please visit [link].
So to artists/designers/illustrators looking for work, do everyone a favor, ESPECIALLY yourselves, and avoid people who do not intend to pay you. Whether they are “spec” gigs, or just some guy who wants a free mural on his living room walls. They need you. You do NOT need them. Say NO to free art.
And for those who are looking for someone to do work for free…please wake up and join the real world. The only thing you’re accomplishing is to insult those with the skills you need. Get a clue.

So...Bush is comparing speaking to terrorists akin to appeasing nazis.
I think he must have confused 'political party' with 'dangerous guerilla fanatic'.
Really.....I just can't believe the lack of respect shown for the people over there who thought they where going to give their life direction. I'm begining to feel shame for my own country, which is sort of patriotism, if you think about it.

Gary Gygax got the IRL ban today.
I'm surprised I actually am saddened by some figure I've never really known, however, he was a special guy. Gygax really cared about nerds and geeks, back when no one did. He knew the real ones, not the 'scene' nerds you get today. He tried to shelter them, and he always did his best to try to give. Like Tycho said in his little editorial, some books create universes. His books existed -only- to create enjoyment and lay the ground work for worlds and dreams. I could be childish and blame his death on 4e, not on his long decaying health, but I'll choose to not do that and just congratulate him on a worthwhile life.
Pour a potion of cure light wounds for your fallen homies, yo.

A long time ago on an internet with less porn.
I met this girl. Yes internet meeting was new back then. I was new to the internets. She was special. We hit it off actually. Became friends, though sometimes we'd go a long time without talking, we where still friends, and everytime our lives connected again, our special friendship picked right back up.
Magical. totally a fun for the family movie.
And life goes on, as life does. She came to hard times, as did I. She made an attempt to touch me and find a place to be really in my life. And I...couldn't.
Not because of her, or even me. I had a...lets think of it as a human canker sore. I couldn't stop because everytime I tried to rid myself of It, it threatened to kill myself, and the one thing I can't do is abandon someone whom seems hurt.
And I lost that friend. I don't think anything ever hurt more then that. I've not talked about it much, especially here. I don't talk alot here, which I always mean to fix. Friendship, love, devotion. You don't get that alot, and everytime you loose it, you loose a tiny little piece of yourself.
Sometimes its even your own fault because your to much of a coward to ignore someones threats just in case they mean it. I never really even appologized to her. I lost my other closest friend in a simmilar matter. And there's others, some about, others not. But neither of them had that...Spark.
Both of them where because I was pretty weak. I don't usually act like that, I know I'm strong and sensible. I don't complain, really, I just work. I want little and expect less, its hard to stomp me down and easy to build me up. But still....
I feel like the biggest weight in my life is gone, like wasted years of misery are just finally now no longer on me. I feel like a human being again and thats a bit of a disturbing conundrum, because I'm not used to that.
The annoying thing is now that I finally feel like myself, I have no idea what to do. I've made -list- of things not to do. But not alot to attempt.
Books at 115,000 pages now. I really need to learn to edit.

The closer you get to a birthday and the older you are the worse they seem then when you where young.
Its not as if they hold some fear of death, or some desperate battle with aging.
nah....as you age you realize each year is proprotinetly less then when you where younger, at least the excitement for the birthday.
Eventually 'birthday parties' fall to the aside. And sooner or later, most gifts seem to as well. Its not as if you deserve it, but its not what it was when you where young.
The same is true of candy really. And Halloween.
I love halloween, if for no other reason then inside of stores right now you generally have bloody screaming heads facing jolly stuffed santa clauses, which will continue till around after the event.
In other matters I just like halloween. I belive that the macabe is as much a part of existance as anything else. Death should be celebrated as life is celebrated, and fear should be cherished just as joy is.
Also I was gonna say some stuff about that 9/11 thing but I'm kinda thirsty and don't see the point.

I belive in gods. I belive everyone has a personal god who's job is to watch out for them. I belive leeks add alot of flavor to food if served correctly. I belive that little box's are the best way to serve anything from most of asia. I belive in huge impersonal gods who created everything and then fucked off to mess around and forgot we where there. I belive in a goddless world. I belive men make gods because there's a hole where something should be. I belive most men are really just kids who don't have the decency to behave like it. I belive that whats traditionally considered 'woman' is always more attractive then 'male'. I belive in aliens, the good kind and the kind that fucks over cows just for kicks. I belive they don't care one lick about us more then we do them. I belive in causality. I belive one of the hardest things to do is remove yourself from someones life so you can't be there to mess it up. I belive in love, more then just about anything in this list, and recogize I'll never have it again. I belive 2d action rpgs are a great waste of time. I belive I'll never finish my book or ever let a living soul so much as read a word of it. I belive my poems are best left where they are, with my art...hidden. I belive Music is the one truth. I belive that country music sucks, not to artistic but I do. I belive candy really did taste better 10 years ago. I belive pepsi is better then coke. I belive a hamburger is one of the best things to eat in america even if you don't like them. I belive Who Framed Roger Rabbit should be in the top 100 films of all time. I belive every religion but scientology. I belive that no one will ever notice me gone one day, and thats comforting because it means I don't have to worry. I belive I really don't like most people but I do try to give them a chance. I belive that stereotypes exist for a reason. I belive in beachs, just in general. I belive that tree's have memory. I belive that some animals are far more intelligent then we give credit. I belive sex probally was better 30 years ago then it is today. I belive hollywood is just america's royalty. I belive the aurora toolset was designed to make my eyes hurt. I belive in every writers vision of potraying their story if their really a writer. I belive most so called writers aren't. I belive in roadside attractions. I belive in america, and that takes work and alot of pretending not to hear things. I belive I'm probally a bit of an ass most of the time too for that matter. I belive a childs smile is worth more then most anything anyone could ever say. I belive that a room really is nicer with the lights off. I belive sunrises are there to make you fucking tired. I belive that there's a padigram shift that causes the joy of hollidays to be shifted generally from the old to young because there's only so much happiness to be had. I belive rock opera's are almost as good as regular opera's. I belive most people don't read enough fiction. I belive most people don't read enough fact. I belive the future is going to suck, or its not. Regardless I belive its going to happen and I'll see what I can. I belive I'm never really going to do what I was meant to do or what I want to do. I belive neither of the prior are probally related in anyway. I belive that tie's make you look like a tit. I belive people think I do my job because I couldn't get anything else. I belive they don't realize how much I'm paid for wasting time and am more worried about feeding and clothing the family. I belive I should be harder then I am. I belive in families, their far stronger then anyone usually realizes. I belive furries probally aren't as bad as I usually say they are but I don't want to be seen as soft or a sympathizer. I belive most people don't read this. I belive in level select codes. I belive in muses. I belive that inspiration can flit into ones mind then scuttle away, and nothing makes it come back for what it was inspiring if it chooses not to. I belive in wishing on a star, even if it doesn't matter. I belive wasted and killed time are sins. I belive most people just need more work ethic. I belive that customers are always fucking stupid so endevor to shop as little as possible. I belive I need to work on my wardrobe but can't be motivated to bother. I belive I'm not often motivated. I belive I'll finish college when I get around to finding the money. I belive in never taking a hand out and working for all you have. I belive in vengence. I belive in lust and greed, those are easy. I belive in charity and kindness, those you have to try for. I belive the mind is complicated, I belive I'm tired. I belive in belief.
I belive I want a pony.
